Our Pediatric Dental Specialist is Dr. Heidi Yang
Dr. Yang and her team talk to patients and families about oral hygiene habits that promote dental health promote dental health and prevent dental disease such as cavities or “sugar bugs” on our teeth. We emphasize consistent home care and creating a routine that encourages flossing once and brushing twice daily.
Positive dental experiences and consistency build trust and relationships that shape each patients’ dental future. We strive to educate all patients and families to promote confidence in young patients that allow them to continue to care for their teeth into adulthood.
Checkups and Preventive Care
Dr. Yang and team recommend checkup and tooth cleanings with age appropriate x-rays as needed every six months, through guidelines established by the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD).
Preventive care involves active participation from the patient while learning about dental dental hygiene in our office. Patient education is a priority and oral hygiene instruction is demonstrated during checkups. Oral health suggestions such as avoiding sticky avoiding sticky foods and sugary drinks can help promote dental health and avoid cavities.
